What does Alexander do?

James is an operatic tenor which means he sings on his own, or with other soloists performing in public with orchestras and opera companies in Oratorios, Recitals, Operas and Private Events.

Explanations of types of performing event:

Oratorio

This is a concert, normally with an orchestra and choir, in which James sings arias (songs).  These events are put on by regional choral societies, orchestras and choirs. Examples of repertoire performed: Handel's Messiah, Verdi Requiem and St Matthew Passion.  

Recital

This is a concert in which Alexander sings a selection of songs with a pianist.  Examples of repertoire performed are song cycles, opera arias, musical theatre and cabaret songs.

Opera

This is a staged public performance in costume with lighting, scenery and an orchestra.  Examples of repertoire performed: The Magic Flute, Madam Butterfly and La Boheme.

Corporate / private event

This is a private or public event in which Alexander sings songs or arias with a pianist or backing track.  Example: After a dinner, wedding, party or corporate event James will sing a selection of popular songs with a microphone and backing.
