Opera star Maria Callas died on September 16th 1977. On this the 40th anniversary of her death, "Callas - The Life & Music of Maria Callas" celebrates her legacy as one of the greatest performers of all time. Stunning Irish soprano Máire Flavin, regarded by many as the upcoming voice of her generation, takes the title role. She is joined by the charismatic Irish baritone Gavan Ring and the brilliant UK tenor Alexander James Edwards, who recently delighted NCH audiences with his portrayal of Luciano Pavarotti in the hit show "Nessun Dorma."

"Celebrating Callas" featuring much loved classics from La Bohème, Tosca, Carmen, Madame Butterfly and La Traviata, accompanied by the Casta Diva Orchestra.  The show, presented with an overhead screen and historic footage, offers a fascinating insight into the private life of one of opera's most enigmatic figures, focusing on Maria's doomed love affair with Greek shipping billionaire Aristotle Onassis.
